Buxton Gets Sand and a Repaired Groin

Dare County, NC has selected a contractor to repair Buxton's historic terminal groin, timed alongside a major sand nourishment project expected to place roughly 2 million cubic yards of sand along nearly 3 miles of shoreline. The idea is simple: a repaired groin helps that new sand stick around instead of drifting away, pairing soft and hard solutions to give this stretch of coast a real shot at holding.
