"It's Getting Worse": Dana Point's Red-Tag Count Hits Double Digits

The tally keeps climbing on Beach Road. Two more homes got red-tagged after last week's high surf, bringing Dana Point's total to 10, while contractors work through the night dropping boulders in front of the homes still standing. "It's getting worse," one homeowner said. "Every day, I get a phone call that there is a new home being affected." The emergency declarations in Dana Point and Laguna Beach were enough to get Orange County's Emergency Operations Center activated, and Supervisor Katrina Foley is now pushing the county to declare its own emergency to unlock recovery funding.
